Within MIUR - Directorate General for the Coordination and Development of Research Activities, the relevant offices responsible for the management of interventions are: Office VI - Promotion and Subsidisation of Research within Businesses, and Office III - Advanced Technology Districts. The UCOGE's responsibilities include the acquisition of the Programme's requests for financing, the assessment of their integrity and regularity, launching and dealing with preliminary checks for the requests and gathering expert scientific opinion on the requests from the Level I Organisational Monitoring Unit of the Committee's Managing Authority (UOCIL).
The competences of the Director General include the preparation of the acts of financial commitment and authorisation of expenditure.
The allocation of the responsibilities among the various bodies participating in the selection and assessment procedures is structured in order to keep management completely separate from the monitoring of certified costs.
The management structure of the Intermediate Body (IB), represented by MiSE, consists of: Division V "Unitary European and National Programming" with cross-planning, monitoring and controlling functions, Division VI "Planning and Management of Financial Resources" (Paying Agency), Division IV "Monitoring and Control of Interventions" and Divisions VII, VIII, IX, X and XI that are classified as "Offices dealing with the Management of Operations" (UCOGE) and manage the Actions provided for by the NOP. The Agenzia nazionale per l'attrazione degli investimenti e lo sviluppo d'impresa S.p.A. - Invitalia (National Agency for the attraction of investments and business development) is an in-house Agency of the Central Administration and ensures compliance with Law No. 181/89 and with Legislative Decree No. 185/2000.
