Project Profile

Resources of Sicily is a project conceived by the Lavoratorio Association made up of young Sicilians whose objective is to encourage the transition between study and work for young Sicilians acting directly and indirectly on all the actors involved in this process.

The Resources of Sicily portal is made up as a HUB capable of creating opportunities for direct communication and interaction among students, high schools, universities and companies through on-line and on-site initiatives, privileging four action zones: coaching, networking, recruiting and information.

On the portal, contents, events and useful information are broadcasts for young people who need support to define their professional objectives, to get to know the modern workforce, companies and characteristics and the occupational habits of professions.

One of the main results achieved by the project is represented by the increase in orientation and placement in Sicily, through activities and diffusion of information through the side www.risorsedisicilia.it.

On the portal a multimedia bulletin board has been created with hundreds of professions in which it is possible to find any type of information tied to a profession. With regard to coaching online interactive orientation seminars are periodically broadcast.

The key events of the project were the first editions of Virtual Career Day online at www.risorsedisicilia.it, these allowed the application on the internet of the elements of a traditional work conference thanks to which young Sicilians came into contact with several companies to establish initial contact and propose their candidature. Thanks to integration with Skype, it has been possible for many young people to carry out a fact-finding video interview with the business concerned and in this way enter into the true selection process.

The events which will be replicated in the next few months will therefore allow the involvement of companies from all throughout the national territory and the offering to young Sicilians of direct encounters, overcoming territorial barriers and creating new opportunities otherwise not accessible.
