Conceived by four young Calabrians between 28 and 29 years old, the project Alternativ@-MENTE! has the objective of developing a technologically advanced solution directed towards a category of users affected by serious disabilities of the cognitive and communicative sphere. Through a specific application, called SPEAKYMATE, the disabled will be helped to speak through PECS symbols available on portable devices such as tablets and smartphones.
The application, therefore, will provide the disabled with a simple and universally comprehensible communicative channel, in such a way as to provide the possibility of growth within a social context and to stimulate cognitive and psycho-affective development.
