Project

PRISMA

Code PON04a2_A

The project, lasting three years, was conceived by a group of large national companies, research centres and Italian universities whose principal aim is the development of an entirely open source platform dedicated to the Public Administration. The final aim of the project is the realisation of a new Italian "cloud" for the PA which is robust, reliable and sustainable over time capable of building at the national and European level a solid foundation for the development of the Digital Agenda and new business models. The platform will use the most advanced technological tools, security and privacy models available today on the market and in line with Italian legislation in the field of data protection.

There are three main open source platforms and enterprises developed by PRISMA:

  • laaS Open Source platform for CED management which can be applied at the infrastructure level to reduce management costs and make more flexible, scalable and transparent the use of current Data Elaboration Centres in the public sector.
  • Open Source platform for the development and application on cloud of applications and services (PaasS) which will facilitate the development of digital applications for smart cities and smart communities making available on demand advanced services of a wide use. (The pilot laaS test beds are already available for experimentation by users at the test level)
  • Applied platform for Health, eGovernment and the assisted evaluation of seismic risk. For the eGovernment sector the platform will allow the evaluation and use of public data in an Open Data mode, the evaluation of the performance of process and the "sentiment" perceived by citizens with regard to the local Public Administration

Regarding the first results, in this first executive phase of the PRISMA project the platforms are being applied at the experimental level in three local realities:

  • A test with the Puglia region which concerns the health sector for the monitoring of health data and the quality of life of patients with chronic renal diseases
  • A test with the Municipality of Catania which concerns the e-Government sector regarding Urban Decor, Mobility and Social Services.
  • A test with the province of Enna and the Municipality of Messina for the assisted evaluation of seismic risk for the collection of data relating to the physical-mechanical characteristics of buildings to assess the danger
