Description	The project aims at investigating, developing and activating an integrated technological system on a prototypical level which serves the purpose of starting up new advanced logistics procedures as far as stock delivery and mail post on two-wheeled means of transport are concerned. The advanced logistics system consists of the following sub-systems: mathematical analysis and improvement of the driving behaviour of the drivers of two-wheeled means (of transport); ¿ Intelligent logistics infrastructure used for: ¿ monitoring the entrance/exit of the vehicles, ¿ controlling the maintenance state of the vehicles, ¿ checking load quantities on motorcycles ¿ checking the actual use and conservation state of the individual protection equipment. ¿ The infrastructure will create advanced check-points that will be equipped to carry out the above mentioned operations. These check-points will also carry out the transmission process to the central system concerning the data collected by the parking area during the delivery operations; An integrated sensor board system which will transform the vehicles used for the deliveries into a “mobile sensor” that will collect real-time information about driving behaviour, road surface, traffic conditions, delivery schedule etc.; A system created for the collection, processing and spreading of information used in order to plan the whole logistics activity. The goals of this activity are: maximizing safety, minimizing delivery times, and consequently reducing the environmental impact. This system will also collect the information coming from the mobile sensors (the means used for deliveries) and will provide useful information that will be helpful in analysing the danger of the routes, monitoring traffic flows, On a technological level, the project aims at developing and setting in motion new sensors integrated with more conventional sensors with the goal to create an processing algorithm for the acquisition of data related to the “postman-means of transport-surrounding environment” system. Based on the collected data, new analysis and prediction models will be developed; these models will allow elaborating new driving behavioural scripts that will help creating more appropriate educational paths for new employees and help carrying out various analyses for safety maximization. Search engines and search models will be implemented on the databank: they will provide new services aimed at optimizing the resources and the town-and-country planning. Particularly, this would allow having valid points for further studies on road conditions, road infrastructure conditions (road surface, road signs, pavements and wayside conditions under different weather conditions). On an infrastructural level, the project will be divided in two areas: the first one will deal with the production of a significant number of vehicles and the activation of new postmen, and it will be managed entirely by Poste Italiane; the second one will deal with data collection and processing services which will be based on the strengthening of the GRID-ENEA (CRESCO) infrastructure. The GRID-ENEA will be integrated with the peripheral terminals, in all the post offices taking part in the project and all the SMEs that will provide the innovative services. CIRP (Consortium of Apulian Universities) will investigate, design and develop, in cooperation with SMEs, the sensor integrated system.
